Maung plosives are "voiceless lenes". They "tend to be voiced in the pre-stop position and voiceless in the post-stop and word-final position. Following the nasals they are voiced, and elsewhere they freely vary between voiced and voiceless." (Capell and Hinch, 1970:21). |
